The preferent stallion Amor (1959 – 1990) is 29 years "young" in this video. After fund-raising among the Dutch breeders a statue of Amor is erected in 1989 near to the stallionstation of his owner Johan Venderbosch in Varsseveld. Once-only in 1997 the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) compiled a ranking of damsires of international sporthorses. There Amor is the only stallion in the world which is listed on the top-sires of aswel international dressagehorses as international jumpers. (see also: painting of Amor)
The keur stallion Goudsmid (1065 – 1990) is 22 years old in this video. He was a successful international showjumper, taking obstacles of more than 2 meter high. Nevertheless he got little chances in breeding because Gelderlanders are out of fashion in KWPN. Because he was breeding good Gelderlanders Goudsmid is awarded as keur-stallion. His stallionline however is extincted and now the blood of Goudsmid only exists by damlines. (see also: picture of Ilex, which by his sire Zep still is a grandson of Goudsmid in the maleline)
El Corona (1986 – 1992) can be seen in this video at the age of 3 years old during the stalliontest in june 1989. He is the last born son of Amor which is an approved stallion. El Corona was standing at stud very little years and died by an accident in march 1992. Nevertheless he is the sire of many international dressagehorses. His son Koss (El Corona x Goudsmid) and grandson Parcival (son of Koss) are Gelderlander stallions available for breeding in 2002. (see also: American text concerning Parcival)
At the day that his dam was awarded Gelderlander champion of the Horseshow in Weert, the foal Patrick (1974 – 1999) was sold to America. There he was a showjumper at international level and he was approved by KWPN. The 100% Gelderlander KWPN-stallion Patrick was the sire of 14 international dressagehorses and as such in the top-10 of all studbooks in America and the best stallion breeded in The Netherlands.
